Teacher Interview

I interviewed my old high school teacher and coach. His name is Matt Beckner. He's a physical education and health teacher there. He's been teaching there for 10 years now. As a future physical education teacher, I gained great tips for when I do become a teacher. Sadly, he did not give me permission to upload the video/voice recording.

The following are the questions I asked Mr. Beckner during the interview:

1. What all have you taught in your 10 years of teaching?
2. What is your classroom management philosophy?
3. Have you tried different types of classroom management philosophies?
4. How do you push your student's education?
5. In the last 10 years, what did you find most successful in different classroom managements?

It was a great opportunity for me to interview Mr. Beckner. Going into the interview, I thought I had a good idea of what his responses were going to be. I was right and wrong. He said some things that different than I thought he would say. His background of teaching different types of classes like special education, physical education, and health has given him different techniques over his 10 years of teaching. He's made many adjustments to have success in classroom management, I think having taught three different types of classes can be tough for a teacher to change a philosophy and classroom management. One thing he talked about was having a big classroom during physical education can be difficult keeping everyone involved. Just finding little ways to keep everyone involved can be hard to do but necessary. Overall, I'm thrilled to have met and talked with my old coach and teacher. His insight, thoughts, and ideas are going to benefit me in the near future.
