Teacher Interview

Hi class,
The questions I asked are as follow;

1. How many years have you been a teacher?
2. What is your method of classroom management?
3. Has that worked for you your entire teaching career?
4. If not what have you done to change it?
5.With the change in instruction statewide, how manageable is it to keep with the new instruction and keep students on task?
6. How do you deal with that one or two students who just refuse to comply?
7. Do you think most students are motivated intrinsically or extrinsically in your class?

I actually had the pleasure of interview two teachers both special education. The first teacher I interviewed was Debbie Dixon. She has been teaching for 24 years.What I took from her was that when it comes to classroom management building relationships with the students can make a huge difference in whether your class will run smoothly or not. Being able to adapt to your class at the moment and be flexible because each day will be different. Use certain experiences from the classrooms to reflect on after class to improve strategies. I have attached a recording of the interview.

The second teacher I interview was Karrie who didn't want her last name to be revealed because she's afraid people would look her up. She was afraid she wasn't ready for the camera lol. What I took from her interview was that we need to keep an open mind and be ready for whatever comes our way. We will work with so many kids on a day to day basis and we need to be able to be there for them to support them with their education as well as the daily struggles of being a teen. Building relationships make the classroom that much easier to manage.
